Although life is always filled with uncertainty, the levels we are currently experiencing are unprecedented and it is becoming evident that this is taking a toll on our young people. In this special report, Dr Michael Carr-Gregg discusses how adult carers can help instil hope in such times of uncertainty. The most recent research from Mission Australia makes clear the breadth and depth the pandemic is having on young people across the nation, especially those in the senior years of school. With mental health concerns on the rise, there are many young people needing extra support to achieve their goals. This special report outlines the vital role parents play in helping young people reframe their worries, encouraging them to see life as it is and helping them to focus more on the things they can control, rather than those they can’t.
